BEACH STYLE IN BIARRTIZ

It was wonderful to back in Biarritz, France with my new husband! We had a crazy fun time in Paris, but are enjoyed the slower pace and beach style in Biarritz.

When prepping for our honeymoon I had to be sure I was packing a sufficient amount of clothing for two destinations (Paris + Biarritz) in a carry on. Since I wanted to shop like crazy, I kept my outfits to a minimum. I only packed 6 interchangeable look, but mixed a few speciality items for a beach destination.

For beachy destinations, I always make sure to pack white linen pants as they are so versatile for warm days and chilly nights, a  lovely gorgeous printed caftan that stands out on all beautiful backgrounds, and a sexy one-piece that I can swim and lounge in. Don’t forget slip on sandals! They’re versatile and are beach style essentials.

We stayed at the beach front, Mercure Plaza Hotel,  which is vintage gem in the heart of Biarritz. With sleek new bathroom upgrades and centrally located area, it was the perfect base. Since I was Biarritz two years ago with my best mate, Becs, it was awesome take Robin to my favorite spots and discover a few new place along the way.

MUST SEE THINGS/EAT/DRINKS:

  • Le Grand Plage: The main beach is an obvious choice. So perfect for lazy days and refreshing swims.
  • Trattoria-La Pizzeria Des Arceaux- Being from Chicago, I know good pizza. Sadly, living in LA I haven’t found it, but there is incredible stone oven pizza in France. This family own place is super cozy and has delicious desserts. There are incredible designer shops all around too!
  • Le Table Basque:  Discover traditional Basque food in the heart of basque country. We had delicious fish, lamb and gateaux basque on their prixe fixed menu; plus the restaurant is photogenic. It is packed every night so make reservations!
  • Mado: Best vintage shop in Biarritz. There is where I purchase all my vintage Saint Laurent, Hermes and Chanel scarves. They have great selection of jewelry too. This year’s trip I scooped up a Lanvin scarf, structured bag, and a jacket for Robin.

Hope these quick tips helped. Check out travel pics below and stay tuned for more from Paris!
