HOW TO HAVE A MORE PRODUCTIVE WEEK

How many times do we say that we are “too busy” but we are not actually productive? If you’re missing appointments, slacking in relationships or never really completing anything on your to-do list, you might need refresher on how to make better use of your time. Lately I’ve been on the go and needed re-set my priorities as often these missteps cause extra stress. That extra stress can lead to increase hormone levels, weight gain, and wrinkles. Who has time for that? The key is pre-planning as much as possible over the weekend so you can schedule you week like a boss. Here are my tips to having the most productive and stress-free week.

SET YOUR PRIORITIES FOR THE WEEK

Make a to-do list of your top 3 priorities/goals for the week. Then break them down into smaller tasks. Align them with your larger goals to stay on track. I like to set some time aside on Sunday evening or Monday morning (after my meditation) to get centered. Having a planner or planning app on your phone like Evernote or Google Calendar is fantastic.

PICK AND PLAN YOUR OUTFITS

If you have a crazy schedule or know you are always late in the morning, pre-planning your outfits makes life easier. Set some time aside on Sunday and to plan. I even encourage clients to create a mini look book on their phone so they can swipe through in bed then get up and decide. You can place clothes on a rolling rack for accessibility and easier mornings.

MEAL PREP

Another way to be more productive is to prepare you meals in advance. If find if I don’t then I get caught up in working and forget to eat or make poor choices because I’m starving. That’s why I use Model Meals* delivery for lunch or prepare dinner meals on Sunday and Wednesday to save time and hours in the kitchen.

SCHEDULE YOUR WORKOUTS

Getting your sweat on helps increase your endorphin levels and adrenaline to help you feel good, but we often neglect because we don’t have enough time. By planning your workout sessions in advance like you would a business meeting is a commitment to yourself and your health. Find a time and an activity that is right for you. With the flexibility of affordability like apps, Classpass, fitness is more accessible than ever.

INCORPORATE “ME TIME”

As much time we spend connected to our phones and are accessible to others, it’s important to unplug. Take some time for yourself, unplug from screen time, people and just be. Maybe journal about your success or practice meditation. Taking as little as five minutes for you to enjoy your own company can help you be more productive. Here’s more self-care tips for stylish mornings.

Keep in mind you don’t have to be perfect next week, but start today. If you make this week better than last, you are headed in the right direction. How do you stay productive? Let me know below!
