Switch up your style and embrace casual cool for your next meeting or off-duty look. This easy outfit has become one of my faves for those not-so-hot summer days that turn into fun summer nights. I usually avoid black pants like the plague, because they are so basic, but these culottes are fab, and add a silhouette drawn from this season’s Celine, Jil Sander and Gucci collections.

For an afternoon in the city, I love pairing black and gray because it’s always timeless. This chic yet playful look is inspired by my love for menswear and Parisian style. I showed a bit a skin with this cold-shoulder bodysuit from Avec Les Filles. There is something that feels so sexy and sensual about a bodysuit, even when the high-waisted pants minimize exposure. The elegance you get is undeniable! Read on to see how I created my statement outfit for a laid back day in the city.

This outfit is extremely simple. It is just a bodysuit and trousers. The key to making it work is how you style it. Here are my top three styling tips for making an outfit really pop.

1-  Change the silhouette. This look is a bit more unique because I selected high-waisted culottes that add a unique and flattering dimension to my outfit.

2- Capitalize on makeup color. Your face is a canvas and an extension of your look. Adding a pop of red lips takes this look to the next level.

3- Follow the Rule of 3.  Always style your look with 3 pieces to make it an outfit! Think about the connection between your top, bottoms and shoes to create a cohesive look.

4- Always Add A Conversation Piece. To make an outfit stand out, you need a conversation piece. Consider something authentic to your personal style. A silk scarf as has officially become my “It” accessory as wearing one instantly adds a little something to any of my outfits. To top off this look, I add my signature hat from my favorite millinery, Janessa Leone, and I’m ready for a casual day in the city!
